This story was inspired by the thought of Prince William of Wales (and indeed the current Max von Hapsburg) studying at the University of St Andrews; it is also, as the title suggests, at least a little inspired by the operetta 'The Student Prince'.

::2019 note: This story was written BEFORE the TV show introduced the character of Gwaine. It's not that I can't spell, or that I'm perversely writing him out of character - I incorporated other characters from Arthurian legend (Kay, Gawain etc) into my story, and lacking prophetic abilities, my versions naturally don't mesh with the versions subsequently introduced into the show.::

Simon’s life gets wildly out of hand when he opens his door to a furious knocking at three in the morning on Saturday and gets a frazzled, furious Jace Wayland barging into his apartment, shouting, “You need to marry me!”
“I - “ Simon blinks at Jace, takes a step back, collides with his shoe rack, and stumbles further backwards. “Cool, okay, so like. Are you drunk?”
“No.” Jace stalks forward, twisting his hand in Simon’s collar and glaring at him with a wild kind of emotion in his eyes. “If you don’t fucking marry me in the next twenty-four hours, Lewis, I am going to be deported back to France, which is a country I didn’t even know I was from until a few hours ago, so suck it up and take one for the team and marry me.”
Simon blames his half-asleep, drowsy state, and his general saint-like nature for saying yes so quickly.

All Stiles wanted was to enjoy a drink at Pandemonium with his best friend and maybe end the night with a pretty human - or maybe a werewolf, it'd been a minute - to celebrate the end of his college career. Instead he got Clary Fray suddenly manifesting Sight, Shadowhunters all over the place, and the Circle popping back up like the dimension's least-likable jack-in-the-box. He'd hidden from the others of his kind all his life with the exception of his mentor and he had zero intention of getting sucked into Shadow World, Downworld, or the Inter-Realm, Multidimensional politics that was anything to do with demons, nephilim, and the Fae.
Too bad fate had other plans, including a warlock who wore glitter like he was born with it and a shadowhunter who should not have a smile that sweet and shy.
If he didn't know better, he'd think Ragnor cursed him after their last argument over Stiles's habit of locking away his heart, but he did know better.
Even Ragnor Fell couldn't have planned for how swiftly Stiles's world could implode and all because one girl didn't have the sense to look the other way when Shadowhunters and demons were roaming the night.

The day Anakin became a Knight, it was like a piece of Obi-wan had been cut out but still beat with blood, far removed from his own body. Ever since he set foot in the Jedi Temple for the first time in a galaxy without Qui-gon Jinn, Anakin shaped his existence, like a blackhole that can only be seen by its gravitational impact, bending the fabric of spacetime around its mass.
Everything Obi-wan was, everything he did, bent around Anakin. Mornings, something he used to loathe, became times for guided meditation. He spent his evenings guiding Anakin through his coursework. Every dawn brought new lessons to be taught, and something new for him to learn about his young Padawan.
Yoda smiles. “An empty-nester, are you, Obi-wan?”

With Anakin knighted, Obi-wan has been left with a vacancy in his life. After a few months of meditating, the force leads Obi-wan to the Tournament Arena, where the Initiate Trials are being held. Listening to the force Obi-wan watches the trials where he speaks with Master Yoda as a young Kiran enters the arena for his duel. The force sang with completion, urging Obi-wan to take the boy as his next padawan. With some encouragement from Masters Yoda and Kit Fisto, Obi-wan approaches Kiran with the proposal of becoming his padawan.
Kiran Rieth was brought to the Jedi temple when he was 4 after being found by the Jedi Kit Fisto. Now at nearly 14 years old, Kiran is struggling. His time as an initiate is quickly ending, and if a Jedi doesn't choose him, he'll be sent to one of the corps or back to his home world. He struggles with making decisions and tends to overthink, causing his anxiety to spike. However, after his duel, the force decided to shine on him, and Master Obi-wan Kenobi wanted him as a Padawan. Kiran, at first, tried to deny it, believing that there were better initiates more deserving of the honor. After a day of thought and advice from Kit Fisto, Kiran agrees to join Obi-wan.
