Then Capon clambers into bed with him, extinguishing Henry’s last flicker of hope that this was a bad joke after all.
There’s a bit of a shuffle while Capon gets comfortable and Henry stews in the curious sensation of a warm body pressed back-to-back against his. He’s slept with girls before, and Mutt, and once, years ago, he even shared a hayloft with Matthew and Fritz… but this is different.

Henry and Hans share a bed at Trosky Castle. Twice. And a beast wakes in Henry, one he thought chained and abandoned to the dark long ago.

“What,” Dick says, then puffs out a shaky breath. He tries again. “What do you want?”
There’s a trace of petulance beneath the blatant confusion, a peevishness that automatically gets Jason’s hackles up before he consciously lowers them, along with an outward calming breath. “You called me, dickhead. Twice.”
“No. No, I didn’t – I.” Dick stutters before there’s a complicated sound, as if he’s dropped the phone. The tumbling motion abruptly halts, but even from whatever distance away, the receiver can still pick up stilted muttering.
