Then the noise and the wind stopped, and a blue box stood in front of him. Before Owen could even begin to think, the box’s door flung inwards and a haggard man slumped against the frame. An eerie red glow lit him from behind, but Owen couldn’t see past him to make anything out.
The man raised some sort of cylindrical device at Owen’s face. It buzzed and glowed blue at the end, and the comms piece in his ear sparked and popped and clattered, still fizzing, to the floor.
“Owen Harper?” the man panted. His voice was hoarse, scratched raw. He half stepped out of the box, one hand gripping the frame for dear life while the other trembled as it reached out for him. Palm up. Like a welcome. “Come with me.”

The Doctor is dead. Donna is dead. Her family is dead. As far as he can tell, Fourteen is the only person left alive in the entire universe. It's a disaster even he can't fix... without help. The only problem? Every member of Torchwood is either missing or dead.
He'll have to delve into some dark powers not seen since the days of the Time War (apart from that one time) in order to assemble a team that can take on this threat. But will Torchwood trust this mad man in a box?

Summary
After the events of The Dark Knight Rises, Bruce Wayne, like Batman, was dead. It set him free to live a normal, simple life for awhile, but after tragedy takes another person he loved, he returns once again to Gotham City. He's no longer Bruce Wayne or the Batman, he's not a hero and he doesn't care about saving the city from itself anymore. The only person who knows him anymore is the Joker, and the Joker seems to have known him a lot longer than Bruce previously believed. In trying to remember where he knows him from, Bruce is confronted with a choice between resuming his old heroic ways or taking the dark path for once, seeing where it leads him.

The Doctor can finally have a peaceful, happy life … except of course he won’t be able to stay away and leave the Master in UNIT’s clutches for long, even if it only bodes trouble. When he finds the way to reverse the Master’s transformation, he’ll get the version of his arch-friend he’s been least expecting.
As for the Master, he’ll have a hard time figuring out what the Doctor might want in return for his help. There must be something, right? There’s always a catch.

I don’t care.” He spat the words like they were the acid that churned beneath them. “What does it matter to me? You’re my player two, bay-bay! I’m having too much fun! Why would I ever want it to stop?”
Something about the way he was speaking, it…it was too practiced. Too performable. Like…he’d been thinking about this for some time. “…How long have you known?”
Joker threw his head back, cackling, and shook it on the way back down. “Long enough, but it doesn’t matter. It didn’t then, it doesn’t now. Nothing has to change! Gotham is our arena, the two of us her gladiators. What does it matter what happens when the fight is up? All that matters is the fight.”

Summary
Something goes wrong. The crown is split during Narinder's defeat, splitting the power between him and the Lamb.
Narinder keeps a portion of his godhood, and the Lamb finds that abilities they had access to before are no longer possible: Healing is cut short. Powers are halved. And there is a very real chance of perma-death, as the ability to resurrect is not possible without full power, and the God of Death is not cooperative.
Afterlife and Purgatory are not options either. Dying means erasure. Gone.Lambert knows Narinder grows stronger by the day, crown or not, and yet keeps him spared as they try to figure out how to complete their own goals. Narinder vows vengeance on the lamb for usurping him. After a few unsuccessful murder attempts, he's in for the long haul. It is only a matter of time before the Lamb's guard is down before he can strike, and The One Who Waits is very patient. When a mystic being demands they save the bishops from purgatory, an alliance is in order.
Except...the lamb's actions and their presence begin to unlock abilities within the God of Death he didn't know he had prior to his imprisonment, among other fickle things, like emotions. The prophecy didn't warn him of that part.
