Kaz Brekker hadn’t wanted to go to college, but he had made a promise and it had given him the connections he needed to follow a man from his past and take him down permanently. Now, he’s come across something else: news about the Little Palace- the only all Deaf university and Fjerda- known for its anti-disability legislation. As a Deaf person himself, it’s hard not to get curious. A little digging later and with a job opportunity to break into the Ice Court, he has his goals set. But he still needs a team…

Sometimes, grief has a gravity that you never get up from. And sometimes, it leaves little boys that have glass in their teeth and punch-scraped skin with a hole in their heart and blood in their mouth, and a five-year long taste for vengeance over the murder of their best friend.
Gotham claws its way into the hearts of its children and leaves oil-smears on their souls. For Danny Fenton, he is no different and no better than the rest of his fellow kids of Crime Alley. It doesn't matter if he's been gone since he was eleven. Blood has always been a part of him, so it's second nature for him to pick up his fists and turn them into claws. It's how he's been taught, after all.
And what he's also been taught, is that arrogance kills, and the Joker has been long since due for his fill.

Summary
Danny just wanted to fight ghosts and live a normal, teenage life. But on vacation, he runs into Sam and Dean and they develop a bad habit of summoning him across the country whenever they run into a ghost. Weirdly, the ghosts are popping up all over the states and something strange is happening in the Ghost Zone. They think another ghost might be behind all the sudden appearances. During all of this, Danny's parents are slowly crossing the line between strict and abusive. Vlad is doing his very best to help Danny and make up for the things he did in the past, but he hasn't quite gotten Danny's trust yet.

Meanwhile, a street rat named Chip has gathered a team to collect that reward: himself, a waitress with mysterious motivations, and a triton street sweeper with amnesia. This story is mostly about them.
