Summary
After the events of Sonic Frontiers, Sonic needs to relax a little bit. He was positive Eggman wouldn't be up to anything anytime soon, especially with what had happened with Sage. Vanilla invites him to stay with her and Cream, which he happily takes up. He spends his days running around with the young rabbit, with surprise visits from Shadow. Though even with all of this company, there is an aching loneliness in his heart, voices that belong to no one, and red cubes in the corner of his vision.

“You’re lying,” Shadow growls. It’s almost painful how the feeling inside of his stomach intensifies, how it burns worse than it did before. Sonic likes someone that isn’t him, he thinks. Sonic doesn’t feel the same. “Tell. Me.”
“It’s…” There’s a moment where Sonic looks hesitant on answering, biting his lip anxiously. Then he hesitates.
“It’s you.”
Shadow has jealousy issues, he is head over heels in love with Sonic, and he is pining hard. Though, maybe the feelings mutual.

Shadow grumbled and turned the other way. Sonic was probably right. He technically was a test tube baby. He growled as the neck of the other stretched and molded to the muscles underneath.
He wanted to bite it. Just give a little cronch to it.

The ache that he felt in his fangs grew more and the persistent voice in the back of his mind grew louder.

Sonic isn't often angry, but when he is, the feeling is all encompassing. it clouds his vision, biting at his joints with a shallow desperate ache to do nothing but harm. he's struggled once, and refuses to allow himself to be that hedgehog again.
In the end, its not really up to him.
