So, lacking both an argument and a purpose for one, Fenris nodded.

After a desperate healing attempt goes haywire, Anders and Fenris try to get to the bottom of what caused the chaotic reaction. Between the phantom pains from non-existent wounds, and the sudden concern for each other's safety, they find themselves with an abundance of questions and nobody to answer them.

Years later, Inquisitor Lavellan survives an assassination attempt by the Qunari after the alliance falls through. Among the attackers is a human Saarebas whom Varric recognises as his old friend.
Saarebas doesn’t remember who he was before the collar was placed around his throat. But he sure recognises that crossbow.

Even if it will take him away from Kirkwall, his friends and his family for long periods of time. Even if it puts all the pressure of reclaiming their title, estates and reputation on Carver.
At least he looks good in the uniform.

His friends want to get him out. Hawke wants out. Meredith wants the Champion on a pretty leash, or perhaps with a pretty lyrium brand on his forehead. The power is entirely in her hands, but Hawke won’t go down without a fight. It’s just unfortunate that the fight might bring down the whole Circle too.
