Modern AU: The Joestars are a bizarre family. The quadruplets-turned-triplets after there was a death in the family, the adopted best friend, two prodigal half-brothers who are closer than real siblings but can’t be more different, the mildly-eccentric fifteen year old, and the twins that Jonathan had to adopt making him the father of his own siblings.

Akechi had the perfect plan.
He'd been trailing the Thieves through Shido's palace for hours. They were getting tired, but kept pushing on nevertheless - and only needed one more letter of recommendation to open the door to Shido. Akechi would patiently let them do the dirty work for him. He would ambush them on their way back out, to give Joker his promised rematch and take the letters for himself after proving once and for all why he was better than all of them!
At least that had been his plan before the Thieves started to lose their current battle. Against a bunch of random Shadows, and yet they were making quick work of the Thieves. It was somehow not as satisfying to watch as he had imagined.
He watched them being taken down one after the other.
This wasn't good.
The leader of the Shadows raised his weapon to finish Joker off.
God-FUCKING-dammit!
Akechi dropped off his ledge and into the fray.

The regular playthrough happened, but Akeshu canonically got together just weeks before Akechi betrayed the Phantom Thieves. When Goro is killed by the cognitive Goro, real Goro is given a chance for a new game+ and he wakes up on the 1st of April, only days before Akira arrives in Tokyo.
Or, Akechi creepily fawning over Akira.
