Summary
After the events of Sonic Forces, where Sonic had been trapped and tortured by Eggman & Infinite for the past 6 months, Sonic was supposed to have enjoyed at least a few months of freedom & quiet while Eggman made another plan to 'conquer the world'. However, the doctor had other plans and immediately starts attacking Central City. As the attacks increase daily, Sonic has been mentally & physically drained from the effort of fighting off Eggman alone. Alone because Shadow has been missing since Sonic was on the Death Egg and Rouge refuses to tell Sonic. However, after a near suicidal attempt, Shadow appears in front of Sonic and Shadow's feelings change.
After Sonic seeks help from G.U.N and discovers his Phantom Rider suit and Extreme Gear again, he decides to disguise himself as Phantom Rider during fights until his 'injuries' are fixed. However, his friends become suspicious, especially Shadow. Will Sonic be able to keep up his secret identity while G.U.N helps him solve issues or will a certain someone discover who he is and confront him?

Summary
Sonic and Tails are more than just best friends. They are brothers, and through every hardship that's been thrown at them, they've gotten through it together. But when Infinite's attack leads to Sonic's imprisonment and Tails believing him dead, holding onto hope becomes impossible. Infinite is planning more than just torture for Sonic. He wants to tear apart his mind until he can't tell illusion from reality, or remember if the young fox is his dearest friend or an enemy trying to kill him.
Tails, meanwhile, refuses to accept that Sonic is dead, and will do anything to get him back. But even if he succeeds, nothing will ever be the same. The war in the outside world continues to destroy everything that the gang holds dear, but when the damage is deep within, how can it ever be rebuilt?

Summary
On her way to Sonic and Tails' house to have dinner with them, Amy meets a stranger who claims to be Sonic's uncle. Sonic confirms this when she brings the stranger with her. This should be a good thing, but Amy gets the feeling from the first few minutes of Sonic and his uncle being together that something is wrong.
Tails has a similar opinion. He tries his best to comfort Sonic, but the hedgehog disappears after everyone has gone to bed for the night. Before Tails can stress about the situation, Amy gets a phone call from Shadow who demands answers to questions that let Amy and Tails know something is definitely wrong.
Shadow is the one who has to deal with this. He has to convince Sonic to walk away from the hedgehog who once raised him.
