“Yor,” he said slowly, trying to quell the mounting sense of panic that was swirling in his gut. “Did Anya not tell you what type of auction this is?”
Yor tilted her head curiously. “Type of auction? What do you mean?”
Off to the side, a group of well-dressed individuals were beginning to line up. A few of them squealed excitedly to each other, trying to peek at the audience from behind the curtains. Loid felt queasy as he turned back to Yor.
“The final part of tonight’s charity event is going to be a date auction. That’s what you signed up for.”
She peered at him, gaze wide and innocent as a deer. “What’s a date auction?”
After a series of comically unfortunate misunderstandings lands Yor in an precarious position, Loid must swoop in to save the day at the one place he dreads the most: the date auction.
Operation Stryx, the Forger Family, and perhaps even his heart, are all at stake—if only he’ll admit it to himself.

“It won’t be that long, just a few months at most. You don’t need to raise her, for crying out loud, just make sure she stays alive and well. We’ll compensate you and everything,” the Handler says.
“What if I say no?”
A futile question.
“Ultimately, I can’t force you to do anything anymore,” she says, “But the poor kid has been through so much. I’m asking you as a friend to protect this little girl.”
She sucks in a breath and holds it, as if debating to say what’s on her mind.
“You fought so children could have a safe world to grow up in, right?” Her voice is gentle and sincere. “Please, Twilight, she needs that world more than ever.”

After a stressful week, Yor suggests that Loid, Yuri, and Franky relax and go have a guy's night with just the boys. When they wake up the next morning, Loid's gun is missing is six bullets, Yuri's work camera is gone, and the car has a human sized dent in the hood.
It also doesn't help that apparently the night before Loid called Yor in a drunken stupor and spoke a little too honestly about his feelings.

And then she left, humming happily as she slipped into her room. Twilight stood firmly planted in the middle of the hallway.
