The owl whit-whooed gently and nipped at Harry's little finger, only then did the teenager notice it, and the silver canister it carried.
Frowning, Harry detached the canister and examined it. It hummed with various security charms, and had the motif of the Ministry of Magic on the cap. As he touched the cap the charms released and he was able to take out the thick scroll of vellum inside. As he pulled it out it enlarged itself to twice its size. There was a seal holding it together with the image of a knight's helmet on a shield background.
He touched the seal and it dissolved.
As he pulled the scroll open across the corner of the breakfast table and began to read, he stopped chewing and froze, the last bite of toast forgotten in his hand.

This was a one-shot, until thousands more words appeared. ☺️ Note: this story is intentionally interested in moral ambiguity, unintended consequences, and emotionally messy human beings. The characters will not always make good decisions. -

Summary
Parts of souls do not go on alone. When Voldemort returns to a body he is much more sane than before and realizes that he cannot go on as he started. Finding some old laws he sets out to reach his goals on another way. Harry will find his world turned upside down once more and we will see how people react when the evil is not acting how they think it should.

If he were to encounter Hermione, he'd likely face a severe scolding, if not outright hexed. There were many reasons for this. Firstly, Harry had pilfered Hermione's middle and last name. (Oh, but perhaps Hermione would forgive him, for she had always regarded him as a brother.) Secondly, Harry adopted a boy without reading a single parenting book. (Although she might annihilate him with parenting books, she might still forgive this too.) Thirdly... Harry had interfered too much with the past, so he could no longer meet Hermione and Ron. (And she would not forgive this fact.)
Yet, looking at the black-haired boy he had adopted as his son, Harry could not help but smile.

Harry goes back in time due to a quirk of being the owner of the invisibility cloak (reincarnation deal). Time-travel, professor Harry with new (OC) identity, child Tom Riddle. No bashing involved. HP and canon belong to JK Rowling. This is less of a show and more of a tell story i.e. dialogue gets really scarce at about ch. 9 and lots of time jumps.

Dumbledore is dead, and his plans seem to be falling apart before Severus' eyes. Harry Potter and his friends are no closer to finding and destroying the Horcruxes, and Voldemort's hold over the wizarding world is growing. Severus Snape desperately creates a potion that can send him back five years into the past. Hopefully, with more time, he can find the Horcruxes, find a way to save Harry from the Horcrux inside him and maybe even save some of his other students along the way.
Or he could fail and doom them all.

Aerys gives the order as soon as word reaches back that Tywin Lannister's men have entered the city to sack it. Eddard Stark had just arrived at the Red Keep with a group of his trusted men when the wildfire ignites and Lord Tywin Lannister's men are well inside the city sacking it with Lord Tywin still at the Gate of the Gods with a half of his forces. The war thus takes a turn as Lord Eddard Stark and Lord Tywin Lannister end up very changed men after their fight for survival with those under them within the walls of the toxic inferno and dealing with the horrors brought on by such.
