A whisper. A well. A warning. A welcome.
Alastor is not particularly popular within his village, his oddities and his solitude working in tandem to drive others away. When he stumbles upon an ancient, forgotten well in a clearing bare of life, he does not think much of it.
Until the dreams start.
In his dreams, Alastor can taste starlight. He cannot escape the sensation of feathers and scales, something altogether inhuman curling around his body. He’s not entirely sure he wants to. When a stranger shows his face in the village, the wind parting around his pale features and carrying the rustle of the invitation Alastor’s dreamt of, how can he do anything but follow? He has never been a particularly religious man.
But perhaps that is due to his lack of somebody worthy to worship.

Summary
After Light dies, he awakens several years before the Kira era begins — and he's furious with Mikami for screwing everything up with his mistake. Sadly, he's powerless to act until Ryuk drops the Death Note into the human world again, which leaves him with plenty of time to reflect.

Light has regained his sense of self and reason after finding himself years before he had picked up the Death Note.
Finally came to the conclusion that being Kira was a mistake, inefficient in the long run, and that the Notebook corrupted him into becoming a monster he resolved to put the past behind him. He got his own Death Note now from his past life as a Shikigami named Chronos, but refused to ever write in it again. Apparently he's half-Shikigami now, as he has the Shikigami eyes after reclaiming his Death Note.
Only for someone else to become Kira.
Light becomes detective Y, the second best detective in the world next to L. Determined to stop Kira.
Light reunited with Mikami, and surprisingly he has his memories but has changed too. They talk and luckily He's not as obsessed as he once was. He still respects Light a lot, even still so when Light had been outed by Ryuk that he's detective Y. Apparently Mikami grew to admire Y after unlearning his unhinged behavior.
Mikami basically strives to become to Y what Watari is to L. Which is cool.
L feels childishly competitive with Y.

He was bored even as he was introduced to Naomi to breed with her, but contrary to what people think, Mers can only choose one mate in their lifetime. After various failed attempts by scientists to produce offspring, they decided to pair Naomi with another Mer named L. L was a captive bred merman and seems to take a liking towards Light instead.

things have become complicated as they question if Lilith's song had inadvertently caused the misunderstanding that brought them together in the first place.
which crumbles their relationship... which is confusing considering that... even if it was a lie they had been aware of it to begin with before they got together. They chose to be together, perhaps they just need to remember that. Are they willing to choose each other now?
