Luka picks up on the second ring.
“Hello?” His voice is sleep roughened. John can imagine him laying in bed, a wireless propped against one shoulder as he searches for a clock to tell him the time. “It’s 1:43, John. Do I need to come in?” he says, right on cue.
“No. Nothing like that.” Shit, is it really that late? Or, early, John supposes. He feels suddenly embarrassed and he has to clear his throat. “Never mind. Go back to sleep, Luka.”
“John, wait.”
The line holds dead air for a moment. John worries at his bottom lip with the sharp line of his teeth, absorbing the white noise on the other end of the line.
“Text me your address. Give me twenty minutes,” Luka says, finally, just before John was about to slide his cell closed.
John calls Luka after his night terror in S11E01. They help each other the best way they know how.

Summary
Charts flutter to the floor and John’s shoes skip on the linoleum, jacket flying out behind him. One of Peter’s hands cups his waist, like nothing, like it’s made to fit just there. When he notices it, his body does too. It’s an interesting feeling. Like he doesn’t have enough blood to supply to both his blushing cheeks and his stirring dick.
“Buy a girl dinner first,” he snaps, ripping himself out of Benton’s grasp. He takes a moment to adjust his tie, hoping it distracts from the way he has to also tug at the tight front of his pants.
“If that counts as second base, it explains a lot about you, Carter.” There's a curl to Benton’s mouth.
John Carter pursues an interesting thought.
