Try as he might, Charlie couldn’t quite quell his nerves.
He bit at his thumb nail, which was already bitten down more than enough. He pulled his hand away from his mouth, shaking his head slightly as he walked up to the office doors. He’d been inside the building a handful of times now, twice for interviews, and once for his orientation day, but he still checked the sign on the door, making sure he had the right address.
He’d also looked it up on Google maps again too, just in case he somehow forgot the directions. He was well aware of how stupid it might be for him to worry so much but it was his first official full day of work, he couldn’t afford to be late because he somehow forgot what building he was going into. He was also incredibly aware he was catastrophizing but therapy also taught him it was fine to catastrophize, as long as he knew that’s what it was.
He was fine, nothing was going to happen to him, he just had to keep that in mind.
(Or Charlie and Nick are living together in domestic bliss, but when Charlie starts a new job and Geoff retires, he finds himself struggling to stay on track.)

“Oh, yes, sure! I’ll erm… I’ll send him an email when we’re done,” I say, trying to seem like the prospect isn’t far more exciting than it should be. An hour spent with the hottest faculty member in the Department? Yes, please!
Or: Oliver Spring is a PhD student and he has a bit of a thing for Dr David Nelson. What harm could one term shadowing David’s module do? Prepare for a smut-heavy slow burn, angst, fluff and a healthy dose of academia (I understand if that's not your flavour of kink).
Story is 80% written and 100% planned in advance. Planned posting schedule: twice a week. Chapter lengths: 2-5K words.

Summary
Nick gets hurt playing rugby (How original, I know) and we'll see how he struggles to heal, both physically and mentally.
We end up with an angsty Nick, who has to deal with some of his own insecurities and issues. He doesn't need to be taken care of, it's his job to take care of others. By the end, he will end up realizing that he needs other people (mainly Charlie) as much as they need him.
Basically, I kind of wanted to explore what it would be like if Nick was the more vulnerable or "hurt" one and Charlie gets to be the strong/badass guy we know he's gonna be some day.
There will be angst and drama, but there will 1000% be a happy ending. These two boys deserve it.
PS: The main story I wanted to tell is complete, but I'm not done here. I'm going to be writing various epilogue chapters, that jump ahead to various points in time, which will tie back to the main story.

But, when a beautiful boy with blue eyes, soft curls, and a troubling past moves into the yellow house across the street, Nick starts to find all the ways that two broken souls can mend each other.
**I am marking this work complete at 12 chapters. I have decided that the story came to a good natural end and I am now on to my next project! 😊❤️
