“Your face is annoying,” said Kaveh and pointed at him,
“My face?” asked the other one in amusement and Kaveh grumbled.
“It looks like Alha-” he started, but then he stopped himself and placed a hand on top of his mouth and took a deep breath.
Thank goodness that he stopped himself when he did! If not, he would end up spilling the secret around the tavern and end up proving Alhaitham’s point, but there he was, proving him wrong! Kaveh could handle his liquor just well.
(Or: Kaveh and Alhaitham have a fight – Kaveh goes to the tavern, gets drunk and ends up pouring his heart out to someone that he thinks is a complete stranger, but it is in fact no one else than Alhaitham.)
Funny and adorable drunk Kaveh with a hint of angst and a dash of emotional hurt/comfort.

They kiss, and Lan Wangji regulates himself. There are no tears pricking at his eyes. There is no lump in his throat. His hands are undressing Wei Ying, and then Wei Ying’s hands are on his hands.
“What is it?” Wei Ying says, between kisses.
Even with Wei Ying back, Lan Wangji's sadness overwhelms him at times. He tries, and fails, to keep it from him.

He cuts himself off. After a beat of silence, he twists his neck sharply, easing the tension, and the sound it makes is like that of the fried gristle he had ordered for lunch the day before, tendon and cartilage crunching wetly beneath his teeth. “You know what I mean, Lan Zhan.”
Or: after one too many late-night dance practices, Lan Wangji realizes that something is very wrong with Wei Wuxian.
