NOTE: This is an AU of pre-canon after Tony saves Gibbs from being killed in the apartment fire in Baltimore, Gibbs gets to help Tony out when he's injured.

Since he was a child he has seen their spirit guide, helping him, keeping a watch over him, protecting him. He just hopes to find them someday so he can return the favor.

It ends abruptly, at just about the point it feels like the story begins, so everything that comes before, while tantalizing, feels like exposition. Ultimately, I leave the fic feeling frustrated. It's a happy ending, but only just.

I just finished the first story of the series, and it's outstanding. I find it both compelling and well-written. It holds my attention, which has been a problem with other fics lately.
Charlie is Charlotte Eppes in this series, and she's a good character. I don't mind the gender switch one bit because the author makes her worth reading. I like this version of Charlie as much as I like the original.
On to the next.
