Look, Katara and Aang should've had way more than 3 kids. They got together so young! They are responsible for rebuilding an entire culture! It feels slightly weird that they stopped as soon as they managed one (1) airbender!
So here is a fic full of 3 additional OC Kataang kids and the various ways they manage to start their own families well before Tenzin does; the pressure this puts on Bumi and Kya, both of whom helped raise their younger siblings and aren't exactly resentful, but have no interest in doing it again; and the ways in which Air Nomad culture clashes with the realities of the modern world and the expectations that kids and parents have for each other.
Half goofy, half unflinchingly serious - like the series was at its best.

When Suyin gets herself into trouble, Sokka smooths it over with the council. Toph does not appreciate this sudden burst of paternal protectiveness. Rumors start flying in the city, that Councilman Sokka is in bed with the Chief of Police, that Su is their secret lovechild, and that maybe this isn't the first time Sokka has smoothed things over for Chief Beifong.
A story about how cities and children change and grow right before our eyes, without us ever even noticing.

As a child she learned it, though Hama's memory still fills her with shame thirty years later. She wonders if it's her duty to pass the technique down to the next generation of waterbenders, and wonders if she can turn it into something useful, something gentle.
Still, sometimes she misses it: the challenge, the heat, the thrill of battle. But the world is different now, and she has a family to look after.

Toph, the greatest earthbender and biggest lesbian there ever was, has no regrets about closing her eyes, plugging her nose, and letting her best metalbending student hit it in order to make a kick-ass kid of her own, but as Lin starts to grow up it occurs to Toph that she almost seems a little lonely. She remembers how hard that is.
Toph had no intention of keeping her original baby daddy in the picture, but Lin asks about her father more than she anticipated. Maybe next time she should pick someone willing to stick around. Not in a dad way, but more like a cool uncle.
Then it hits her: one of her best friends just happens to be the coolest uncle on the planet.
