Summary
Three years following the settlement of the village, New Asgard’s political climate takes a turn for the worst.
A fact that is not at all aided by Loki’s sudden, inexplicable tendency toward seemingly senseless acts of violence. Even less so by his outright refusal to speak to Thor about the matter.
Something has to give. Unfortunately for everyone involved, this happens sooner rather than later.

Thor sighed, agreeing with Val. Thor's overprotectiveness had always annoyed Loki, but he couldn't help it. Thor had just gotten Loki back and he just couldn't lose him.

Thor could hear the battle before he could see it. The clatter of swords and splinter of shields, they were so common it neared the point of ambiance in New Asgard.
He let out a sigh, more often than not these days he longed to escape battle altogether. With dwindling numbers, he found battle not only needless but actively poisoning what was left of their people. A far cry from his hunger for it in his youth. Battle had already taken so much, but he refused to let it take any more so with an outstretched palm he called Stormbreaker.

As part of his punishment Loki is stripped of his magic, voice, and sent to Earth to 'reform.' Which, naturally, means he ends up back at Stark Tower. Tony is less than thrilled, especially when his thoughts start to stray more and more towards the fallen god, and he starts noticing small things that are off about Loki. Had his eyes always been green?

“I’m sorry about Jane.” He said, his eyes still transfixed on the statue he stood at the feet of. Thor felt a shiver go down his spin as he heard his brother’s voice. He didn’t think he would ever forget it- But maybe he had. It felt so forgein.
“I really liked her,” Loki added, his voice soft.
“Where have you been-” Thor didn’t mean for it to fall out of his mouth so wetly. He gasped, fighting back the tears that were already coming. Loki looked at him, but quickly turned away.
“I had to make sure you were alright.” Thor’s brows pinched, “That the God Slayer or whoever hadn’t killed you.” Loki explained, his hands sliding into his pockets.

Loki is running from the TVA, the 'wrong' TVA. In the process he stumbles into the sacred timeline, wrong place- wrong time. The God Butcher finds him, but another disheartening truth is unfolded.
