Summary
On successfully achieving his Animagus transformation all by himself in his sixth year, Tom Riddle decides to celebrate his achievement by observing the Hogwarts Castle in all its magical glory from a snake's point of view.
While intellectually observing (roaming) the Castle, Tom spots Harry Potter sneaking towards the Astronomy Tower alone. In the hopes of catching the Gryffindor's Golden Boy doing something illegal on top of breaking the rule for curfew, Tom follows after him.
But, instead of catching Potter doing something illegal, Tom finds out a secret of Potter's that changes his slightly biased perception about the Gryffindor.
What follows is a beautiful friendship between a snake and a raven that might grow into something more.
