Ambition, popularity, power, acceptance, romance, facades, urges... In this society controlled by instinct, one must choose what mask to wear. It is up to these young animals to decide how to navigate the increasingly uncertain issues of society. If they even have a choice at all.

At the decorated Northern Lights Academy, the Animal Chase Tag team practices in hopes to qualify for, and potentially win, a national tournament. Animal Chase Tag is a sport that derives excitement from the combination of instinct and strategy; "chasers" and "evaders" play one-on-one, utilizing their natural abilities in hunting and fleeing to their advantage.
The athletes on the team wrestle with the intricacies of teenage life all the while. Omar the striped hyena struggles to reconnect with his adoptive mother, a muntjac deer named Ana. Eugene the springbok grapples to accept a bigoted pedagogy towards carnivores that his parents spew back home. And while the Academy fosters high achievement in students of all kinds, someone is bound to crack under the pressure. When their world gets flipped upside down, someone will have to show their stripes and stand up to a society that constantly teeters between compliance and chaos.
