During the duel after the 2v1000, Wemmbu is fatally injured, he can't get to the crater. Neither of them have any totems left. He and Flame talk about everything and nothing at all up until the dawn creeps up on them.

"Is it just me, or do I smell blood?" What the fuck? Yeah he was definitely cooked now. Slowly, he moved towards where he thought was safe, but froze once he heard a branch snap under his foot.
Suddenly, the footsteps grew hurried, almost as if someone was running towards him. Wemmbu could only pray it was some chungie, but as he saw a flash of orange, he froze.
A lion hybrid ran towards him with a spear in their hands, "Gotcha!" they said but before they attacked Wemmbu they seemed to freeze in place, the spear dropping from their hands and falling onto the ground.
Or
Wemmbu just escaped the Law prison. After making it out, he runs into two blindfolded people he did NOT want to see.

“I’m dying," Egg says, one easy summer afternoon in their treehouse.“What?” Wemmbu asks. “No. No, Egg, you aren’t. That’s not funny, bro,” he insists. "You’re not. Are you? You’re not, right?” he pleads. His mind is in a tailspin, utterly lost and confused because Egg is his day-one.
In the beginning, there was Wemmbu and there was Egg, playing in the rose-gardens and daring each other to fly across the void, and in the end there will be Wemmbu and there will be Egg, bleeding away on some blown-up battlefield.
“I am,” Egg says, gently. “I’ve been sick for a long time,” Egg continues, and he looks down at the midnight pants of his suit, almost ashamed. He sighs, looking up and meeting Wemmbu’s eyes again. “I’m going to die in three days,” he says.

Wemmbu takes a deep breath that wracks his body. Damn, he is in even worse shape than he had thought. As the adrenaline wears off, he starts to feel the pain from all his injuries and a burning in all his limbs from being pushed far beyond their limits. “Flame… I can’t,” he finally says quietly, forcing himself to make eye contact and smile weakly.
Flame stops and tilts his head down. “What do you mean, you can’t?”
Wemmbu swallows, which hurts. “I’m out of resources, Flame. I have nothing.”

Wind blew past him as he fell. It caressed his purple locks in the only violent nature he knew he'd endure again and again willingly. Wemmbu gazed at the skies painted in orange
(flaming)hues, for an entire second forgetting that he was pushed off...By the person he thought he could trust and turn his back to. Suddenly everything felt...
So far away.
It matters not. Not anymore even if it's a betrayal Wemmbu experiences yet another time. He felt tired. Bone deep exhausted. Perhaps that was the reason for Flame's next blows to be not as strong as usual.
In the end it doesn't really change anything. Wemmbu still feels that hollow exhaustion by the time he admits defeat, by the time he gives up his title of 'the strongest' and Lettuce comes to collect him. For some reason the idea of execution doesn't sound as bad as it did before.
Maybe he could even rest a bit. Or see Rejoice.
Or: Wemmbu is tired. Flame... for some godforsaken reason... Cannot just not care.
Set after/during his Prison arc and some crumbs of the invis arc.
