It’s almost like… like Hikaru’s being soaked from the inside, like something’s seeped into him and won’t stop — turning color to sludge and corners to rot. Hikaru’s molding and mildewing, and growing in his remains is something else.
Hikaru is less Hikaru the closer Yoshiki looks.
So Yoshiki closes his eyes.

"Yoshiki, Yoshiki—!" 'Hikaru' cries. He chants Yoshiki's name and his name alone, like a mantra or a prayer. He nuzzles their foreheads and their noses, wanting closer and closer and closer and closer.
'Hikaru' can't die, but he just came face to face with the weight of dying when he saw death fitted on Yoshiki. This is salvation for him as much as it is for Yoshiki.

«Hikaru», una criatura que se quedó en el mundo terrenal por accidente, dándose un propósito: cumplir los deseos de las personas que veía y el afán de llenar su propio vacío. Jamás había albergado sentimientos profundos hacia los humanos: no entendía su forma de actuar, sus emociones fluctuantes, ni que la vida y la muerte son cosas distintas y no solo un pasaje al círculo de la reencarnación.
Ahora yace presenciando lo que esa misma «pérdida» significa en carne propia, y tal vez comprendió demasiado tarde el sentimiento de vacío inconsolable que deja tras de sí. Pues el cuerpo inerte de Yoshiki, recostado entre los escombros mientras suelta su último aliento, será lo último que presenciará de aquella persona que lo ayudó a entender el amor y deceso a la par.

He finds himself wondering how Yoshiki would taste on his tongue.
“You know you can touch me too, right?” Yoshiki is almost pouting at Hikaru’s lack of movement, and it makes him feel just a little insane.
He kind of feels like he wants to start bleeding out of his skin, that murderous intent writhing under his skin making itself known, but Hikaru stops the bleeding. He pushes himself back under Hikaru’s skin, and reminds himself it feels better this way anyway, that Yoshiki is like nothing he’s ever experienced before.
Yoshiki grabs his wrist and brings Hikaru’s hand to his stomach. Hikaru allows himself to be moved, he allows himself to feel the supple soft give of Yoshiki’s flesh. So breakable compared to himself, yet Hikaru can feel the rippling of his muscles beneath the surface, and finds himself wondering how Yoshiki’s strength can manipulate his human body.
Hikaru finds himself wanting Yoshiki to do the taking.

Except he hadn’t, because Hikaru was still there. Not in the body that held the same warmth, whose voice warped and melded into something familiar yet uniquely its own, but in the fresh air of Kubitachi. He was in the sweet smell of the summer grass and the sticky residue of popsicle on his fingers.
