“I need you to come along and pay for our tickets to that Cat Returns movie coming out tomorrow. Nayuta’s been talking about it for months—you promised her we’d all go.”
“…I’ll give you some money to take her before I leave.”
“Cut the shit,” Denji snarks. “You know that’s not what I meant.”-------------------------------

Denji has long since stopped trying to expose himself as Chainsaw Man and accidentally started building a life instead… unfortunately, that life includes Yoshida Hirofumi—or rather, it did.
Now Yoshida is wrapped up in an undercover operation linked to a string of murders in Shinjuku, and Denji’s former stalker-turned… friend(?) keeps vanishing on him. Which would be easier to ignore if Denji weren’t getting dragged after him through bad bars, better music, worse choices, and one very prolonged, very unpleasant bisexual awakening.

After a brief pause, Aki heaves a laboured sigh, smoke billowing from his nostrils like the dragon devil they just killed. He points his cigarette at the gaping, slimy mouth of the deceased creature.
“Just shut up and get inside before the yakuza come back.”OR
Aki dies and wakes up about a year before the main timeline began - with all his memories (mostly) intact.
In an attempt to alter their fates, he secretly seeks out his former roommates before Makima becomes aware of their existence.

“Let me tell you about a place! Somewhere up-a New York way,” Kate croons, happily along with the music spilling from her phone. The warm steady hand on Yelena’s waist encourages her to meet the archer’s jaunty movements as she swings them around the apartment. It’s a little graceless and ridiculous; however, Yelena thinks Kate’s face might be radiating actual rays of pure sunlight, so she finds that she doesn’t really mind. “Where the people are so gay!”
“Well, this is very gay, yes,” Yelena mutters under the trill of the trumpet.
“I’m glad you think so!” Kate laughs in between breaths as she continues singing.
OR
After spending most of her life bent to the will of the Red Room, every phrase and opinion uttered feels original - every experience feels new. Something can’t be over-used if you’ve never had the opportunity to use it in the first place, right? So, when Yelena says kissing Kate was ‘life-changing’, then she’d argue that the cliché doesn’t count if it’s meant literally.
