Solas stopped abruptly, turning to face her. His sharp, piercing gaze caught hers, and for a moment, Rook hesitated. Her breath faltered under the weight of his scrutiny. Slowly, she dropped her eyes to the ground and released her grip on his cloak.
“I swear fealty to you,” she said. “I will be your blade, if you’ll allow it. I know I’ve kept things from you—my story, even my name—but I swear that whatever knowledge I have, it could aid your cause. This I swear.”
She raised her eyes to meet his again, and to her surprise, Solas’s composure cracked. His mouth fell slightly ajar, and he stared at her as if she had just done something unfathomable.
Without waiting for a response, Rook drew her blade from its sheath.
“What are you—” Solas began, but the words faltered as she sliced the edge of the blade across her palm. A sharp hiss escaped her lips as blood seeped over her skin.

Rook ends up in the past in the middle of Solas’ rebellion. Not sure how she got there, she decides to ally herself with the Dreadwolf in hopes of somehow changing the future.

It was clear from the way she held his stare, from the way she lifted a hand and rested the tips of her fingers on his chest, that he'd not been imagining the reciprocation in desire he’d sensed. His heart seemed to skip half a dozen beats as she tipped her chin ever so slightly to better meet his stare. "Sometimes a bad idea is better," she countered.

Summary
A young Alistair meets a young girl he only knew as Tela Cousland & they become friends. However they quickly find themselves apart when Alistair is sent to become a Templar & Tela, or Telaina goes home to Highever. Never forgetting each other, they correspond & after Telaina sends Alistair a small painted miniature of herself, Alistair falls in love with her letters & painting.
Before he takes his vows, Alistair is recruited by Duncan & leaves happily but also mourns the fact that as a Warden he can never hope to marry the woman he loves & burns most of her letters and painting.
When Telaina is the only survivor of the Cousland family massacre, she is recruited as a Grey Warden & brought to Ostagar.
Not recognizing each other after so much time & calling herself Telaina of Highever, they head to Redcliffe to see Arl Eamon. Finding Teagan there, he is the one to show them who they are to each other. Shocked at first, they have one passionate encounter before they realize they are not who they once were & stop.
Now they face the Blight, but love & lust are hard to fight when years of yearning are pulling them closer.
