The first thing she notices is not the cut of his robes, or the way he has his hair styled, cropped close on the sides but long on the top. It’s not his expensive dragon leather shoes that shine nearly iridescent in the light, or the sharp caress of his grey eyes as they flit over her face with the speed and reflexes of a seasoned Seeker.
It's the ink that peeks out above the crisp collar of his shirt. It’s a flash of blue against his pale skin, the only drop of color on his body.
That she can see.
It takes Hermione several minutes to focus well enough to drag her eyes away, lest she get caught with her jaw on the sticky floor of the pub they’re both standing in. Something tells her there's more color hidden behind the flat black of his suit and robes. There has to be, considering the intricate design that creeps up his neck like tendrils of blue smoke.

It’s the first time all night he’s actually sounded like his usual, menacing self, and that twisted exhilaration she feels when he’s towing the line between intimidation and seduction starts to creep back in. At this point she knows the sensible thing is to walk away, let him stew in whatever little regret he’s going to feel later for blowing her off. But Caroline hasn’t had much luck in doing the sensible thing lately, especially when it comes to Klaus, so she snatches the brush and palette out of his hands, walks over to an empty canvas, and takes the challenge in stride.

Charlie was drowning in her before the first brush of her leg against his as she put a knee up on the couch and straddled him. His hands trembled slightly as they landed on her hips, unconsciously pulling her forward into him. Her small hands came up to either side of his face and her fingers trailed over the short hair above his ears.
"Charlie," she whispered. "Please kiss me."
