Malleus wasn’t saying anything. The spotlight was all on Yuu.
“It’s a surprise! Until we give you the presentation- uh, when do you want that?”
In an alternate universe, Malleus and Yuu did not meet when Malleus was taking a midnight stroll around Ramshackle, but instead when they are both assigned to NRC's first prom committee in years. The only problem is, the pair get off to a much rougher start this time, and must learn to work together to pull this off.

Sebek seemed to like it. For some reason, Malleus had not liked that.
Two of the other club members reached into the tray to take brownies, and Malleus frowned. He finished his brownie and took another, taking a big bite.
Yuu was smiling, glowing under everyone’s praise. He could feel everyone else shining brighter in their presence, but his stomach couldn’t help but churn.
That could have been the tray of brownies, though.
Malleus feels a bit sick, watching Sebek and Yuu get closer as he feels like he's sailing farther and farther away. Thankfully, he's super cool about it.
Just kidding.

NRC dropping a mandatory, nine-week group performance project on the first-years goes about as well as anyone would expect. The entire freshman block is instantly thrown into absolute chaos, trying to juggle killer choreography, housewardens breathing down their necks, and a mountain of actual homework. But between the late-night stress and joint-dorm drama, it’s honestly kind of a blast—mostly because everyone is suffering together.
For Yuu, the endless rehearsals, cheap grocery runs, and cooking for a constantly starving crew feel strangely familiar. Without a drop of magic, Yuu just relies on good old-fashioned group project discipline, turning the whole nine-week mess into a warm, chaotic taste of back home.
