“What do you mean you don’t use that form now?” Venti asks, straightening from where he’d been half-laying on the table. He suddenly looks concerningly more sober.

“It isn’t necessary for fulfilling my duties,” Xiao answers, trying not to shrink into himself too much. “It’s a liability.”
Barbatos looks at him and then at Zhongli, confused. Xiao’s mouth has gone dry. He can’t bring himself to say it.
They're broken and ugly, just like the whole of him, but the difference is that the rest of his body is still capable of being useful, and that part is not. No longer an advantage in battle, but dead weight instead."

Zhongli and Venti try to take care of Xiao's wings. Xiao tries to let himself be taken care of. There's about a two and a half thousand years worth of things that make it difficult.

It was so unfair. Ever since the Akasha had been reset and Sumeru had learned that it could dream, Tighnari had had relative ease adjusting to the new concept.
Cyno, though. Cyno had immediately gotten full-on nightmares.

While Tighnari is trying to calm Cyno down after a panic attack, they step into some new territory along the way. Cyno's eyes are opened to just how much he likes this new territory.

“Right. So, uh, how much are you asking for this thing? This book of yours.”

Dori leans back in, her grin widening to reveal sharp teeth. “Oh, I thought you’d never ask, Grandmaster!” she purrs, each word as sweet as honey taken straight from the comb. “Why, it’s only fifty thousand mora.”

Varka doesn’t quite choke on his own saliva, but it’s a close thing. “Fifty what now?”

“Oh, don’t be like that,” Dori scolds with a shake of her head. “Anyone else would be asking for much more – it’s not every day you stumble upon a book this old and this useful too! A guide to courting for, ah, individuals specific to Nod-Krai and Snezhnaya? It’s practically a trove of information, Sir Varka! Really now, it’s only because you’re my most loyal, most esteemed, most valuable customer that I can afford naming such a low price.”

Or: Varka gets swindled into buying a Fae courting guide, written by a human for other humans. He's also forced to come to terms with his own feelings regarding a certain Lightkeeper (who might or might not be Fae). Shenanigans ensue as he attempts to follow this dubious yet somehow effective guide to the very end.

    Summary

“Baby Bird?” Jason’s voice shifted, softened into something almost fragile, as if he were speaking to a child. Maybe, in his eyes, Tim was exactly that. The familiar nickname—so wrong, so tender—sent a tremor down Tim’s spine. Jason never called him that. Jason never spoke to him with warmth.

    Jason hated Tim.

He shut his eyes tight, praying this was just a cruel dream. But then warm hands cupped his face, grounding him. A metallic clatter echoed through the cave, sharp and final. The gun had hit the floor.

“No, no, no—don’t close those blue eyes, Baby Bird. Look at me,” this time Jason’s voice cracked into a plea. Every word trembled with fear, with a need that made Tim’s chest tighten painfully. Tim bit down on a sob, the taste of salt and blood filling his mouth, forcing himself to lift his gaze and meet the toxic green fire of Jason’s eyes once more. He could feel the tremor in Jason’s hands, the way his knees pressed into the cold floor, and it made his own body ache with tension.

    Or,

Tim wakes up in Gotham, which looks too foreign, but he finds a home there.
