Summary
Rose Lalonde used to be a popular author, but she stopped working on her flagship series and released a couple of mediocre novels. Roxy is a runaway teenager living on the streets and pick-pocketing for sustenance. When they meet, Rose is intrigued and offers to let Roxy stay at her manor indefinitely. Roxy accepts the offer just to get off the streets, but starts falling for the moody author. She just can’t shake off the feeling Rose is just using her.
As she becomes more familiar with both Rose and the people around her, Roxy learns things, both about herself and Rose. Not all of them are pleasant.

Summary
Centuries in the future, genetically engineered humans rule. Progenitors and their clones are the norm. Not fitting the norm makes you a target, and Rose doesn't come within a light year of normal.
