Kotoha escapes from her abusive husband while pregnant, striving for a better life for herself and her unborn child. She finds herself at the doorstep of a beautiful mansion and is greeted almost immediately by the attendants, taken to the feet of a man with long blonde locks and piercing eyes that never left her sight. Her bruises and injuries would be healed remarkably fast by a graze of his hand, Kotoha sobbing from joy and proclaiming how grateful she was to him.
Douma would smile behind his golden fan at her cheeks being soiled by her heavy tears. Even while tears flowed down her face, her beauty kept him captivated, her kimono dressing her perfectly. And her stomach... her stomach that was carrying a child made his stomach growl in anticipation.
However, his hunger soon turns to something else, something... emotional.

Only shortly after the mission that had seen them collide with two Uppermoons Muichiro had looked for him, and had looked him over, registering with an impassive gaze the semi-destroyed uniform, the scars scattered over any part of his body now exposed to the world (in an extremely embarrassing way, but by now he was able to ignore that burning shame in showing anyone that destroyed and cursed skin, those tattoos and wounds and gashes) and had approached without saying a word.
Genya had turned pale and stepped back, muscles weakened by the fight but still able to stand, wounds healed and thin scars the last reminder of the blows that had pierced him from side to side, and Muichiro hadn't stopped.
He had planted himself a few centimeters from him, observing him from below with his head tilted like a cat's, and had spoken in a firm voice.
"I'm tired. Carry me on your back"

When Rokuta wouldn't settle down for anyone but Tanjiro, he and Nezuko swapped places on that fateful day. She went down to the village to sell charcoal while he stayed behind with a growing sense of dread as the smell of blood and death lingered on their mountain. Muzan attacked the Kamados that night. However, when the first thing he saw upon entering their household was Tanjiro, with his red eyes and red hair and hanafuda earrings, he quickly gave into his sadistic need for revenge against a man long dead.
Tanjiro was turned into a demon, and Muzan let the rest of his family live. He was sure that the boy would wake up and devour everyone, thoroughly sullying Yoriichi's legacy. Tanjiro did no such thing. Tomioka Giyu did not pay a visit to the Kamado family until well over a year later, and with these small but significant differences, everything changed.
