“Too big for you,” Stede dismissed easily, with a little chuckle.
And Ed couldn’t help get his hackles up at that, because he’d always thought of himself as a bit of a dick connoisseur, actually, and he didn’t like the implication that he wasn’t. “How do you know that?” he demanded.
“Well, because I’ve seen what human penises look like!” Stede exclaimed. “Trust me, you couldn’t handle it.”
“Stede,” Ed scoffed, folding his arms. “I’m a marine biologist. I can handle anything.”A fic in which Ed discovers that his merman boyfriend has a hidden merman penis, and insists on conducting some thorough biological research. If you catch my drift.

Ed is lying on the couch, tummy down, knees bent and legs crossed at the ankles. He’s got a game controller in his hands, big headphones on his head (kitty ears and all), a lollipop in his mouth, lower lip tantalizingly red.
“You fuck,” he grunts into the microphone around the candy, flexing his ankles. “You think you’re carrying?” He yanks it out of his mouth and sets it on the coffee table. “That’s fucking rich.”

Summary
Everyone knows the fucking rule, nobody better than Ed: you find a weird bell, you don’t ding the weird bell.
Guess how many times Ed’s dinged the weird bell anyway. Yeah, Ed always dings the weird bell, it’s like a fucking compulsion, he just can’t not. Brain sees a bell, brain goes, what would happen if I dinged that?
Dinging occurs. Shit happens.

A 5+1 (or really a 1+5) in which innkeeper-era Ed and Stede discover a magic bell that can take them back in time to past moments in their relationship. They decide to seduce each other (and themselves) at different points to see if they can avert some of the pain they all went through. Things do not, of course, go as planned.
