After the death of Kuro-Sensei, Karma and Nagisa drop out of high school to become assassins. An honest job, really. Though Karasuma might disapprove, what a hypocrite.
Nagisa seems happy, in his own way. He’s not… like he used to be. But how could Karma expect him to be? No, Nagisa isn’t the same innocent schoolboy as before. Not as kind, or cheerful.
Now Nagisa’s an assassin. A snake poised for the kill. Fangs frozen with venom. His hands are colder too. Icicles that never melt.
Karma’s the opposite. Heat folding in on itself into a tight ball. It begs to be let out. To feel the cool air against it. But, there’s nowhere to let it out. It’s stuck. A bomb waiting to go off.
Karma can’t really say he’s the same as before either. But how is he different? What’s changed? He was always burning, wasn’t he?
Always ready for something.
Their classmates are similar, but not the same. Is he like them? Himself just more grown up, or has he changed into something else?
Whatever, things will be fine.
They have to be.Who wants a normal life, anyways. Killing is much more fitting than being an artist or something.

Life has been turning for a long time. Harry isn’t sure when it started. If it was when Cedric Digory died at the triwizard Tournament. Or if it was when his soul was being sucked out by dementors. Maybe it was before that. Back when he fought a snake.
No. That’s not it either. Maybe it was the first time he was beat bloody by Dudley and his cronies?
Or maybe, maybe his life was determined to head down this fucked up path from the beginning. And even Voldemort was merciful enough to spare him from it. He doesn’t know when it happened. Just that it has.
And now everything is sharp. Spikes along every narrow road. Digging into his skin. Blood trickling down his arms, and legs. So much blood. Soaked into his skin, baked under his fingernails, no matter how much he scrubs.
The further he walks, the less sure he is about just whose blood it is.
