"You spoil him," Flambae grumbled, as if he wasn't just as bad about giving into Beef's demands. Robert just rolled his eyes dramatically, moving over to the dresser. He'd forgotten to bring over clothes to sleep in, just his work clothes for the shift tomorrow. Which just meant that he got to steal Flambae's, and neither of them were complaining about that.

When Luke meets Dr. Spencer Reid, he knows, deep down, that this is the man he wants to spend the rest of his life with. And when Spencer reciprocates his feelings, he considers himself the luckiest man in the world to love such an incredible man. They make promises for the future, and Luke believes they'll make it through their long-distance relationship.
But then something happens to Spencer and it causes him to push Luke away to the point of breaking up with him. He leaves Luke confused and heartbroken. Luke never gets closure.
Until he gets a job at the BAU ten years later.
OR
Luke and Spencer meet at the end of season 1 and begin a relationship, but Spencer breaks up with him after the trauma of being kidnapped by Tobias Hankel. They don't speak again until Luke arrives at the BAU.
