Love wasn't something Verlaine was well versed in -- but from the way Rimbaud had described it, this must be it. His heart was beating too fast, his palms felt sweaty and his stomach was doing backflips.
Was this love? Verlaine didn't deserve it, not now, certainly not with what he'd done, but Rimbaud... Rimbaud was offering it up so kindly.
Maybe he should indulge, just this once.

THIS WORK IS CURRENTLY UNDER REVISION -- hoping to be done by the end of July to mid August.
After almost getting himself killed, Fukuzawa forces Ranpo to come with him -- either from fear that he might get himself killed or a sense of responsibility for his subordinates that never left him, even after his assassin days.
Unfortunately for Fukuzawa, Ranpo doesn't know the first thing about thinking for someone other than himself. Chaos ensues, Ranpo is almost left multiple times, Fukuzawa doesn't know how to dad.

Paul drew back a little. “It's not my birthday today,” he argued flatly. “In fact, I don’t even have a birthday. Because I wasn't born.”
“You do,” Rimbaud insisted, squeezing his hand lightly. “We decided the first year we spent together, remember?”
