Summary
It aligns perfectly with the trajectory of Wolfwood's life to desire his own undoing—to yearn for attention and, he grimaces at the thought, the affection from a devil in a pretty disguise. He could never, not in a lifetime, accumulate the same level of bloodstains that must mar Knives' existence. Wolfwood insists he hates it, loathes Knives for the trail of bodies left in his wake. He tells himself the tremble in his fingers is born of rage, of barely contained intent to kill. The way his pulse quickens is fear, a terror coursing through him when sharp teeth flash behind a smile that would be kinder on any other face. Feigned interest on curled lips, mocking fondness.
Knives is at the root of everything Wolfwood wanted to kill himself for. Knives' lips felt so good against his own.
