It started as a passing comment.
After hearing Lucifer tell Charlie there is a book that allows you to witness a randoms sinner's actions that lead them to hell, Alastor seeks it out in an attempt to cure his boredom.
What seems to be a recap of a random sinner's mortal life, quickly devolves into a way too familiar story.

It's been almost thirty years since Shifty crawled out of the lab like a zombie rising from the grave, since Stanford Pines fell beyond their reach. Thirty years of almost nightly work on a portal that refused to obey their and Stan's commands, no matter what they did. Thirty years since the start of the Mystery Shack and Shifty's alter ego, the unlikeable co-manager of said Shack. Hope is starting to wear thin, and frustration is running high.
But when a pair of twins begin to stumble upon the mysteries of the town, there might be something left to find after, be they solutions or secrets. Secrets that might as easily destroy Shifty as they could save them.

Summary
Darius, is, inherently not a wrathful man.
He much prefers to verbally vivisect his enemies than getting out the carving knife to do it on the kitchen floor. For one, there’s less mess. And usually when you’re actually vivisected; you die of infection.
If Darius rips apart every ounce of self-perception and misplaced self-confidence or at least lowly acceptance of one’s situation; you have to live with that. Or you throw yourself off one of the ribs and traumatise a troupe of schoolchildren. Either way, Darius avoids the hassle of having to go to court for a murder.
But sometimes, he thinks about what he'd like to do Belos.
In the middle of the night, with their kids asleep above them, Eda and Darius talk about those thoughts.
Darius explores that special brand of emotions of joining a weird cult and then getting out of said weird cult by violence and meeting up with your old friends from high school and talking about the weird cult. With alcohol.
