Summary
When Mahal himself offers to send Thorin back to the start of the quest to save the line of Durin, he is determined to make amends for all of the mistakes he made the first time around.
When Bilbo wakes up in Bag End eighty years in the past, all he knows is that he has somehow been given the chance to see his beloved dwarves again and he'll be damned if he doesn't take it.
Both dwarf and hobbit are desperate to prevent the quest from ending in tragedy, but neither will be able to do it on their own. They'll need to work together if they want to keep the entire Company alive and whole --but first they need to realize that they are not alone in their efforts, and they have to stop getting in each other's way at every turn they make.
Hopefully, they'll learn some things this time that they failed to learn before. And maybe, just maybe, they'll find their happy ending that both have been yearning for.

The boys and their Uncle exchange letters, the soldier understandably worried about how they're being treated, and soon, Bilbo sees it fit to start adding little messages of his own - unbeknownst to him, Thorin begins cherishing those almost as much as his nephews' words.

He doesn't know who named him, but he doubts it was done with any love—love is not something people feel for him—, so he cares not for it. However, hearing his name coming out of Ike's lips, spoken in excitement rather than disgust, makes something click in him.

And Claude, despite his apparent initiative of total equity, had fled-- and he was the figure who had been reachable. Their Royal Grace, Byleth, was too well guarded and busy to be reached by a band of people with no money and no political power."
Almost a year after the end of The Unification of Fodlan, Ashe and Dedue reunite by chance. Confronted by specters of the past and distant hopes for the future, they test the strength of the supposedly peace-filled world Claude and Byleth have created, and attempt to reclaim the home that was taken from the people of Duscur.
Ch 6: "A Week in Gaspard" With their plan halted in its tracks, Dedue and Ashe take a week to ignore the circumstances of their arrangement before they decide whether they should, as they say "quit while they're ahead". A week in which they consider the lesser implications of stopping where they stand.

Bilbo Baggins chooses the last option, taking his recently orphaned nephew and moving to the charming Oak Cottage, overlooking England’s grislier shores.
