Summary
i am a good person. i am a powerful person. i don’t believe in evil. i think that evil is an idea created by others to avoid dealing with their own nature. i understand my own nature. good and evil have nothing to do with it.
‘we don’t know what she’ll do,’ cameron says. ‘heather’s nervous.’
‘no idea why,’ frances mutters, voice dripping with sarcasm, ‘it isn’t like the statute for murder never expires.’
‘manslaughter,’ charlotte corrects- ‘it wasn’t premeditated.’
cameron pushes his glasses up his nose and opens his mouth like he’s willing to debate the semantics, but frances dogears her page and says, ‘could we change the subject? it makes me feel sick.’Series

Summary
At first, she does it because her hands hurt. Looking back, it is a foolish reason to do anything-pain is a part of any martial art, an expected consequence of training and fighting. But she is six then, bright eyed and hopeful. Life up until this point has been isolation, living in Bao Gu Orphanage, existing as something feral and unlovable. Shifu’s mentorship, guardianship-it seems new and beautiful. Finally, someone sees something in her.
In the coming months, her paw pads crack and bleed. She strains her wrist, cracks a tooth because she keeps gritting her teeth in agony. Master Shifu scolds her recklessness but does not ask where she received her injuries. He does not tell her to stop. Oogway smiles at her in the hallways, invites her for tea, teaches her how to garden. He is trying to help her, somehow, but Tigress cannot make out how. If he really cared, he would help her train, help her please Shifu.

Summary
another poem i wrote about my ever-beloved, gorgeously flawed, grayed and faded, yet not forgotten henry winter. as the tags suggest, it's an account of the immediate aftermath of his suicide, with the allusion to ms tartt's own claim that we tend to quiver before all that we consider beautiful. quite dark, as expected, but short (yet not painless per se) to make up for it.

Summary
"well maybe," she snaps, voice that of a vicious, cornered hound, "one can become so wrapped up in their own world that they can't even see what's right in front of them."
Henry's face, carved and nearly ominous in the white light of snowfall, reflects no emotion. his voice similar, carved as though pulled from the snapping depths of that chasmous stare.
"or, perhaps they've chosen not to see."a silence that cuts through the room, tension seeping from the walls much like the cold air that curls in tendrils through the windows.
his words almost send her flinching. her eyes, a blizzard; fueled by wounded pride and freezing resentment. I felt as though something massive had shifted; something larger than me, larger than any of us.

Summary
Sometimes she would see him there, lying down on the blood-muddied floor lifeless. Sometimes she would see him approaching her (“You think I’d hurt you?” he’d say, with the crooked sweetest smile she would ever see him displaying, “Come here”), whispering something into her ear and kissing her head.
That whisper.
OR: Henry left Camilla his suicide note, a letter of the things that have been haunting him; of Bunny, of the Bacchanal, and... of Richard Papen.

Summary
A reimagining of the scene where Henry describes the events during the bacchanal. What if Richard had not been so patient when Henry told his story? What if the question of murder had overpowered the intrigue of the bacchanal? What if it did matter?
What if there was no tea, and everyone was hopping mad?

Summary
Richard Papen is a delightful mystery for all of them. The wonder of this lanky Californian specimen does not miss any of the Greek class. Roiling whorls of coffee-brown hair curl across the nape of his neck. He has a warm brown glance, roving and flickering across all of them. He is a puzzle, and the Greek class is hungry, hungry, hungry for puzzles to piece together and break into bits. They are desperate for a cause to stand around and rip apart, and Richard Papen is a delicious distraction.
*****
A study of the Greek class' odd fascination with Richard Papen.

Summary
it was at the start of october on that fateful senior year that you had found yourself in henry winter’s illustrious townhouse. from the lacquered brazillian hardwood floorboards to the ivory plasterwork on the ceilings – every corner pertained a certain degree of finery that reflected poorly on the rest of its objects: a well-worn armchair perpetually stuck in henry's physique and fraying at the edges, the trampled rug that snaked upstairs and held all of your secrets, the coffee table with too many wine stains. in the dim light, the dried rorschach looked like blood.

Summary
“Why don’t we cover more ground then? Search for at least half an hour and whoever finds her first can bring her back here. And then we can savour what’s left of the afterparty.”
It all sounded like a decent idea, right up to this very moment where Henry has to contemplate whether or not to approach the shadow connected to the oxidized statue of Artemis, the perfect hiding spot for a black dress.
He squints closer on the antsy movement; a great expanse of skin provided by her backless gown that almost feels wrong to see so clearly lacking any winged protrusions. Curled in on herself, secretive underneath the protective penumbra of a coppery teal-coloured Olympian.
There’s a sprinkle of satinette feathers enlaced in her hair, easily mistaken for something as soft as snowflakes or icing sugar.
At the ironic risk of being struck down by an arrow himself (poised motionless in Artemis’ fingers, oddly pinpointed right at him), he nears closer. Dusting up on his French that foremostly recalls to him in Charles Baudelair stanzas.
Losing patience, truthfully without meaning her to hear, he mumbles to himself. “Un cygne qui s’était évadé de sa cage.” ✭
But she sharpens up like a plucked string.
