Castiel didn't look up from his suitcase. “Top,” he said.
Dean nodded and tossed his sleep equipment onto the bottom bunk.
Castiel looked up, eyebrows creased. “Oh, you meant bunks? Bottom, please.”
Dean paused. He frowned loudly and threw a questioning look at his bunkmate.
Castiel had turned his back to him and was rooting through his bag. He pulled out a striped fitted sheet and moved to put it on the bottom bunk.
“What,” Dean said suspiciously, making the question sound more like a statement.
“Bottom, Dean. That is, if you don't mind,” he answered, unfolding the sheet.
Dean nodded warily, eyes narrowed.
“O... kay. I'll take the top.”
Dean couldn't be sure, but he thought he heard the other man snort quietly.

Summary
Steve had thought Tommy and Carol coming by was about as bad as it could get for him. The people he used to be friends with seeing him in that ridiculous sailor’s outfit, laughing themselves stupid. Surely that had to be rock bottom, right? Nothing could be worse than that.
He had, of course, been dead wrong.
Tommy and Carol were not the worst of it. Their laughter and bitchy jabs were absolutely nothing compared to the look of utter, absolute glee that Steve could see on the face of Eddie Munson when he walked by Scoops Ahoy on a Wednesday afternoon in July.

Or the one where Steve is working at Scoops, and Eddie comes by, loses his shit at the sight of Steve in his uniform, and decides to spend the entire summer mocking him. Except maybe there's something else going on, too.

There’s something about Castiel that just makes Dean want him. Well, not even want; he needs to have him. He’s not sure if it’s the weird, often oversized sweaters or his thin wrists or that black, messy hair that make him tick, but he’s pretty sure the main thing is his eyes, that, unfortunately, never look at him twice. And Dean is freaking popular, everybody looks at him twice.
Dean transferred to this school three years ago and is now a senior, and he’s been secretly ogling Castiel ever since. This distant yearning might have worked in the past years, but now it was just four months until he would graduate and leave this school forever, so he had woken up this morning and decided that fuck it, he wasn’t some 12-yearold girl; if he wanted something he would make sure he got it, even if that something was a rude hipster kid who didn't even notice his existence. End of story.
