Summary
Maddie and Lyn have always loved the story of the Mario Brothers first coming to the Real World. So as any mentally ill teens would do, they have to build a machine to get them back in time to see them. That becomes a problem when the pair see and older Mario die right in front of them to a cloaked figure. Armed with a cryptic message from the dying Mario and a newly built time machine (and trauma), the pair travel back and time to learn what really happened to the Mario Brothers and their allies. The only problem is that they can't get back once they arrive.

"Eztli missed the salty air. It had been days since the young Tundra dragon and his ragtag crew had shipped off around the currents of Sornieth. Don’t get him wrong, he loved to travel as much as birds love to fly, but you can never say no to a short break."
Eztli is a captain of a small crew of pirates. Life is good exploring the currents of Sornieth until a storm causes him to shipwreck near the edges of the Starfall Isles. Echo, the leader of a small nomadic clan, hears about the wreck and sends a letter of invitation to the young and injured captain. Things go as well as you expect them to.
