Summary
A good night at the Devil’s Den finds Janosh and Adder pitted against each other in a drinking game designed by the Devil himself.
One arm wrestle, a seductively dangerous dare and a few highly intimate questions later and Adder is a hot mess all because he kept pushing, kept teasing, kept doing things that Janosh had only ever dreamed off.
So of course Janosh snaps when Adder asks if he wants to play a game of hide the sausage with him.

MULTI CHAPTER FIC
Henry escaped Skalitz when his parents were killed during the raid. Only Martin didn't tell him to go to Radzig. Instead, he told him to get to Kuttenburg and the forge he apprenticed at. He told Henry that Shkoda and Magdalena would keep him safe from war. It was his last attempt to keep him from a life of warring and fighting even when it came knocking at their door. Taking the sword that they had forged for Radzig with him, he fled after they were cut down in front of him. He doesn't know that Radzig is his father. He doesn't go to Rattay. He doesn't meet Sir Hans Capon... but one night, when Henry finds a thief in his forge, he assumes that dealing with him will be straightforward.
It turns out to be anything but. And meetings don't happen the way they might have, had he been told the truth on the day that Skalitz burned.

What does this mean, Henry almost wants to ask. Doesn't because it does not matter. They would both be dead soon, this false king, this false monk.

“I see the burden you carry,” Henry whispered, leaning down so his breath ghosted over Voyta’s lips. “The pain, the loss,” he continued, eyes flickering around the painter’s face as his breath hitched. “the guilt, the longing,” his thumb traced over Voyta’s bottom lip, still wet. “It never leaves, doesn’t it?”
Voyta’s shoulders quivered. “Please—I prayed. I prayed for it to leave.”
At the confession, Henry dragged him closer. “Let me take it away.” Voyta’s eyes widened at the words. Henry’s own heart thrashed wildly against his ribs. “Pour it all in me,” he breathed, leaning in for another kiss. “Cleanse yourself in me.”

Henryk, nie mogąc pogodzić się z porażką poniesioną w pierwszym pojedynku na miecze z Janem Ptaszkiem, po tygodniach treningów z kapitanem Bernardem rzuca młodemu szlachcicowi rękawicę – wszystko po to, by utrzeć mu nosa, sprawić, by pożałował wszystkich słów, jakie do niego skierował, a zarazem udowodnić wszystkim swoją wartość, to, że jest wart poświęconego mu czasu, a przy okazji – jeśli dobrze pójdzie – zdobyć dodatkowe pieniądze. Po spędzeniu poranka z mieszkańcami młyna i Orzechem Henryk udaje się do Ratajów, by odnaleźć pana Ptaszka. Pojedynek dochodzi do skutku, ale nie wszystko przebiega zgodnie z planem – ani Henryka, ani Ptaszka – i obaj muszą zmierzyć się z jego konsekwencjami.
