Plus, Wilde was hailed as the sexiest man alive on Times Magazine for a few years in a row, and Louis was a big fan. This would be a walk in the park and fun, right? Right?

His heart thuds so hard his head feels like it might burst. For once he doesn't think. He doesn't let his mind formulate thousands of scenarios. He doesn't let it cripple him. Guilt can't have him now, Shame can't take him. He doesn't have to move much. Just a shift of his hand. Turning his palm down and inching over. It collides with another hand. Warm and firm....Lestat's fingers twitch. His body jerks, and his chest rises sharply. Then it happens.....Lestat sobs, openly, loudly......brokenly.
Louis feels those long fingers wrap around him. Hands intertwined and they squeeze so hard his bones creek. Needing to be anchored, needing to feel properly, needing the assurance that someone's here. Louis feels fresh warmth spill from his own eyes. His breath hitches and the sound brings the turn of an angels face. Grey eyes tinged with blue seize green orbs. Louis crumbles then unable to hold it. He too cries...for all the pain, all the heart ache, all the guilt, the betrayal, the loss....the love.
Or
Lestat's falling apart, all he wants is Louis back. Expect he knows how to make things worse before he makes them better. With love like a hurricane, it was only clear within the eye of the storm.

Lestat exhales, a long, drawn out breath, and then nods, once. “Don’t say I did not warn you, Louis.”
Louis clicks his tongue, and then waves his hand. “Well, you know, I mean, one only knows after, and…” He sees the darkening of Lestat’s gaze, and hurries to continue. “What I mean is, that nothing could have prepared me for the turning back then, mon cher, and nothing can really prepare me now. But… we will manage.”
Lestat’s gaze is shadowed. “As simple as that?”
Louis quirks an eyebrow. “As simple as that.”The muscles in Lestat’s jaw jump. “Promise?”
There is a lot in that simple word, a vulnerability that tears at Louis’ heart, and a desperation in regards to all that they have been through already.
He smiles softly, and then lifts their hands to kiss the blood tears off the skin. “Je promets.”

Louis realizes he is missing a piece of the puzzle that is Lestat.

I, who gave you a second life, another chance to see the world without your fickle mortal ideologies. We spent two centuries together, yet never once was I thanked for my service. You and Claudia. Wretched fools, the both of you. Yet here you are once more. You never could stay away from home for too long. Louis kills the voice in his head before it does any more damage, blood running cold as he realizes he’d been staring into Lestat’s eyes in his dissociative state. And Lestat looks nothing short of famished.
