Jason crawls under the covers, leaving Dick’s bedroom door cracked so some of the light from the hallway can get in. He’s shaking as he buries himself in Dick’s arms, and Dick really hopes it’s from whatever nightmare has sent him to Dick’s door this time, rather than because he made his way here in only the t-shirt and shorts he’s currently wearing. Dick slips an arm under Jason’s back to pull him closer, trying not to flinch at the temperature of Jason’s skin, and tangles the other in his hair so he can gently scrape his nails over his scalp. He can feel Jason’s hitched breaths against the bare skin of his collarbone as the younger man seems to try and bury himself into Dick’s ribcage.

It does nothing but cause Jason to blush harder, his face on fire as he finds himself nodding, unable to lie to Dick as he looks away in embarrassment. His brain is shutting down as he begins to run through the worst possible things Dick could say in response, ranging from kicking him out to just flat up laughing at him.
“Good.”
Jason whips his head back to face Dick, his mouth slightly parted, because what?

There’s a pause next to him, and then, in a truly dramatic motion of flailing limbs and exaggerated shuffling, Dick rolls over from his side of the cot and wiggles under the heinously scratchy blanket until they’re lying face-to-face. Granted, given the practically minuscule space they’re both squished upon, it’s more like they’re nose-to-nose. Dick’s stupid face is so close Jason could practically count the sunspots on his cheek.

Jason and Dick mess up a heist big time, barely make it out alive and empty-handed. To make things worse, there’s only one bed in the rescue airship that saved their bacon.
