"Toshi." That's all her brain had been waiting for. The feeling of being safe and loved and cared for. Her knees gave up and she fell to the ground while clutching the phone. She curled into herself on the cold tiles in front of the still open door and just cried. She knew Hitoshi was trying to get her attention so he could figure out what was going on, but she couldn't breathe. She was tired of being strong. She was tired of being the one to always shove their feelings down and be the last one to lash out in anger. She knew she'd get back up and face whatever she needed to in order to take the next steps toward her new life, but for now…
For now… She just cried.

So, this was NOT how Katsuki expected his night to go.
He never expected a face from his past. A face he's thought of every single day for years, aged beautifully. Fluffy, emerald curls framing his pretty, puffy cheeks. Tears littered along his waterline, over flowing and darkening his freckles with mascara streaks. He's wearing a giant coat wrapped tightly around his body and miss-matched slippers to top it off.
He looked like an absolute hot mess.

It stole Bakugou Katsuki’s childhood when he became a War Hero at the young age of sixteen, and a Chief of Base Ground Zero after the War. It’s caused arranged marriages you are forced to run away from, hiding in an island and learning a life of simplicity along the grumpy War Hero.
The War may have been unkind to everyone, but it has paved the way for second chances at learning love that comes without cost.

Bittersweet ending that isnt properly reflected in tags. A lot less comfort than implied and would not recommend fellow Bakugou/Reader peeps to glance at it unless youre wanting emotional hurt/almost no comfort. Beautiful writing though. So theres that.
