Mike's first thought is to pluck each one out, one by one, and stick them on paper so he can measure their size with a ruler. He bets they're bigger than his. "Oh," the boy's voice standing on the other side of the door is soft but slurred. He must have been drinking, Mike realizes. People become foolish when they drink. The smile threatening to tear his lips is cold and makes him think about how easy drunks are to deal with. And to contain.
