He glanced down at the sword pointed directly at his heart, then lifted his gaze back to her, rising only slightly from the ground. The sharp blade brushed against his clothes.
"I know."
She arched a brow, somewhere between disdain and curiosity, studying the eyes ringed in black. For a moment, she wondered what his face looked like behind that mask.
"Your lack of self-preservation is quite entertaining."
And she couldn't see his lips, but she was certain he was smiling when he answered.
"I’m your fool, Princess," he said then. "It is my duty to keep you entertained."
