Summary
The Master planned for every circumstance except this one. The Doctor was supposed to regenerate into him; they were not supposed to swap bodies. The TARDIS arrives before he has time to mourn his plan, but a new one forms the moment a bewildered Yaz rushes towards him with open arms.
The Doctor was too weak to reciprocate the human's feelings. If he's going to ruin her reputation, he may as well break her hearts in the process.

Summary
The Doctor goes into hiding in the 26th century as a human researcher in the Arctic Circle. Yaz is responsible for protecting both the human and the fob watch that holds her Doctor's soul, but the more Yaz learns about Doctor Jo Beaumont, the less she trusts her. The human harbors her own secrets, and the mission the Doctor prepped Yaz for? It's definitely not the mission Jo Beaumont is on.
Includes obligatory pining, guilty lust, and gay confusion as you might expect.

Those who recover the remnants often receive a reward, be it a wish, great wealth, or unbelievable glory. These events vary by the telling, as all things that have occurred beyond living memory are want to do. History is a wild thing, prone to embellishment and flights of fancy, but in this moment, Yaz wants the stories to be true.
Perhaps this is the excitement she has longed for.
Perhaps this will heal the hole in her heart.
Perhaps this is the adventure she seeks.

Summary
“Yaz, look at me.” The Doctor says softly and Yaz looks up to find the Time Lord’s eyes shining as well “This is not me leaving you again.”

The Doctor turns herself human in order to escape their enemies, and Yaz and Dan are left with no choice but waiting until it's safe again and they can bring the Time Lord back. Everything was going fine: they had jobs and Yaz was checking up on the Doctor once a week, just to make sure she was safe and with no contact whatsoever. But as everything that has to do with the Doctor, things never go to plan and without meaning to Yaz and this human version of the Time Lord start to build a relationship that Yaz had never dared to dream of having with the Doctor. Because they are too completely different people, and Yaz cannot help but have feelings for them both, knowing that sooner or later, this human version will be gone.

Yaz is having a hard time coping after the events on Orphan 55 and The Doctor just wants to be there for her. An evening spent talking has them both longing to spend more time alone together, although Yaz doesn't fully understand her sudden desire for proximity to The Doctor. They both find themselves trying to steal private moments together around their adventures with Ryan and Graham while trying to figure out what all of this means for their relationship.
(Alternatively: An almost canon compliant story that spans from Orphan 55 to post-Eve of the Daleks about the development of the romantic element of Yaz and The Doctor's relationship and Yaz coming to terms with and learning to be comfortable with herself.)
