Title: Wild is the Honour by SaturnaIia
Canonverse… friends to lovers.
I enjoyed it. Both Naruto and Sasuke are alphas (as I honestly think they both should be) yet they are still, against their instincts, attracted to each other.
A few grammatical errors but nothing too distracting.
Great one shot!

Naruto sinks to his knees in front of Sasuke on the floor in the empty apartment. The cold November air seeps in through the open window that Sasuke hadn’t bothered to shut after it got dark, harsh fluorescent lights washing them in a sick glow, carving out every broken and maimed part of them and laying it in stark contrast.
“Naruto,” Sasuke says, quieter this time. The tiredness that seems to live in his body now begins to crawl over him like hands pulling him under water. “Your Konoha is not the same as mine.”
Or, as the years pass after the Fourth Great War, Sasuke struggles with the concept of love.

11/18/23: chapter 8
Title: Shall We Die
I’ve read the first eight chapters and i must say that I’m enjoying it. It’s Sasuke centric.
The story began with the truth about the Uchiha massacre coming to light and Sasuke serving a much reduced sentence (more like 2 year ‘house arrest’ with Naruto as his guard) as a result.
Although very little detail was revealed about what Sasuke and Naruto got up to during those two years, the author still managed to capture, very acutely, Sasuke’s urgency to leave on the very first day after the end of his 2 year life with Naruto.
So, as the author prepared us for, despite all the insanely heavy feels and a heart felt sad love confession scene, Sasuke left Konoha and the real story began.
Three chapters in and I’m really interested to know where this will go and I’m curious to read about how Sasuke will find his way back to Naruto.

Title: Two is a Crowd.
Setting: narutoverse.General theme: Sasuke and naruto are wandering. Naruto is already the hokage. Naruto can accept that he loves sasuke but he can’t seem to be able to fathom that sasuke might love him back. Sasuke can’t accept that he loves naruto.
Slow burn that’s inundated with heavy feels (as expected)
No real plot. Just sasuke and naruto figuring out and accepting their feelings for each other.
Really good read. Enjoying the Waterfall of Truth arch.

Title: Tabula Rasa
This was a story had some feels. Not heavy feels like KinomiAkai but feels nonetheless.
It explores a scenario where sasuke’s memories (remember he would have essentially ’learnt’ to be a ninja), specifically, ALL his memories related to being a ninja have been sealed and as a result, those who he met through ninja training, he has also forgotten. One might describe his state as a type of TEMPORARY amnesia.
He’s basically placed under house arrest in a fairly remote cabin that’s somewhere in the forest outside of Konoha with naruto as his ward.
Altho, he doesn’t remember naruto, what makes this story so incredibly wonderful and heartwarming is sasuke falls for naruto all over again. It was like he experienced these feelings without really knowing the history that lead to their existence. It was just so lovely to read. Because sasuke's ninja related memories were erased, the strong sense of hatred was removed, the walls that he usually kept up were down. He was just so open, unguarded, honest and talkative with naruto.
Ofc, it was through Naruto’s interaction with this amnesiac sasuke that he realized his feelings for his best friend and ofc, because this sasuke was so much LESS of an asshole he felt safe to confess. It was just great. The confession scene wasn’t as emotionally arousing as the confessing scene in chapter 28 of The Sun Within You but it was still great.
the intention was, once a verdict was reached on sasuke’s case, the temporary amnesia would be reversed and all memories gained during the amnesiac state would be permanently lost. He spent about 2 months in that cabin with naruto falling in love then kissing and loving him. It was crazy. Imagine the heartbreak when the amnesia is removed and the real frigid standoffish sasuke returns! 😍

As summers pass, Naruto finds himself coming back again and again to see the boy at the end of the boardwalk. Title: Something to Remember Me By
This story was awesome. I got so emotionally involved that I cried reading it. I felt fear while reading it. However, it wasn’t an emotional story like the ones kinomiAkai writes. Those KinomiAkai stories are over flowing with the feelings of the characters. This story just had an emotional event.
Basically, it’s a story about how Naruto spends a certain week of each summer over the course of his teenaged life. He goes to a particular sleepy small beach town each summer for a week. During that week, he spends his time with the friends that he made there and they all attend a 3 day carnival. At the carnival, naruto meets sasuke, a boy who runs an unpopular ring toss stall in a lonely corner of the carnival.
Each summer, naruto sneaks away from his small town friend group to be alone with sasuke. After doing this for 4 summers, naruto realizes that he’s hopelessly in love with sasuke - that’s when naruto learns the heartbreaking real-tear-shedding, bad-dream-having truth about sasuke.

Title: Hands Full
This was nice. Sasuke was really in character. I guess naruto was too. They really came across as typical teenage boys - with all the board games and video games that they played.
Basically it’s a fic about the boys getting together while in high school. Not too much interaction between them and their peers, but I didn’t mind that. Sasuke is the ass we all know and love. Naruto is his talkative self. They helped each other prepare for SAT.
The relationship between sasuke and itachi was really nice to read. Sasuke interactions with his family was also nice. There wasn’t any sense of competition or jealousy between sasuke and itachi. It felt like the uchiha parents loved both their sons equally. It didn’t seem like fugaku favored itachi or ignored sasuke. I wasn’t sure if either of the boys parents knew about their relationship.
All in all, it was a good read. A lot of feels but not the usual heavy vibe of some of my other favorite fics- this heavy vibe was more of sasuke trying to figure out his feelings for naruto so not too angsty.

(August 23) This is going pretty good. Excited to see if kakashi finds out the truth about what Naruto and sasuke have been up to and im Excited to find out if naruto is only so into sasuke bcuz of the medication technique that sasuke had them try. Pretty interesting stuff.
Update (November 21):
Ok. I’m 33 chapters deep and I’m Pretty sure Naruto is genuinely into sasuke and vice Versa. Everyone is a bit too vague / insufficiently forthcoming with information. That makes for an enticing yet infuriating story. The boys seem very in character although this story doesn’t take place in the naruto-verse. I’m still enjoying the story. Can’t wait for more chapters.

Talk about a slow burn. Read the first 17 chapters and i must say, SLOWWWWWW BURNNNNNN. I wish that I had discovered this fic when it was already completed tho. I don’t like waiting for updates. 😪
I’m enjoying the story. I love that sas and naru are in character. As usual, I love Shikamaru. He’s really an ally to naruto.
This fic feels realistic. The author didn’t make everyone gay but rather stuck to the canon dynamics and i really appreciated that.
The interactions between sas and naruto are what you would expect. Even tho the author added some flirting, esp on sasuke’s part, it still seems mostly all in character. Sasuke is so conceited and provocative and he needs a hug. Naruto I feel for you boy but don’t give up. Y’all are the OTP.
I really am enjoying this fic. It is exactly what I love to read - sas and naruto figuring out their feelings and then deciding what to do about said feelings. That’s way more fun to read about than an established relationship… at least, that’s the mood I’ve been in lately.

Summary

Summary
It's almost been a year since the Fourth Great Ninja War ended and things are pretty boring in Konoha. Naruto rarely sees his friends anymore, with Sakura training to become a better medical-nin all the time and Sasuke being confined to his own apartment under constant watch.
When interdimensional activity is discovered far, far south, in the middle of the ocean, Kakashi unites the Konoha 11 + Sasuke and sends them off on an adventure to check it out. Having the group back together again is totally weird, but much more exciting than anything else going on.
The group travels the seas in search of a new potential villain, while also dealing with the repercussions of the past war. Things have changed since they were young, and moving on from them is the bravest thing they can do. Also— Naruto has a major epiphany about someone.

Started off great… then got far fetched… then ended up ultra gay… one big happy family type of gay. Just felt a bit too out of touch with reality for my taste - a bit too Disney fairytale happy ending.
Bookmarking bcuz the first 16-20 chapters were really entertaining!!! Kakashi was so comical. I love that. I expected Shikamaru to be quicker on the draw tho.
Boruto was a bit TOO temperamental for my taste but I don’t know anything much about his canon character so hey, maybe this is what he’s actually like.
All in all, I enjoyed.

Title: Sunbursts by Sieges
This story doesn’t really have a plot but it is still awesome.
The setting is canonverse. The forth great shinobi war has ended. Konoha is being rebuilt. It’s a time of peace. Kakashi is hokage. Naruto and hinata are planning their wedding. Sasuke and sakura are pretty good friends (dare I say close friends) and nothing more.
Upon completion of his prison sentence, Sasuke is released on the condition that he must remain loyal to the hokage. Uzumaki seals are placed on the both wrists to ensure this. Betrayal results in his death. He knows and naruto knows that the seals are unnecessary because sasuke is unconditionally loyal to Naruto who he anticipates will succeed Kakashi as hokage. They are the only ones who think that way about the seals though. Sasuke did, after all, try to kill Naruto a couple times well.
There isn’t a drop of overt sasunaru in the story but I still really enjoyed it. The author does a fantastic job of keeping the boys in character in my opinion. The boys both seem like the type to not want to dive deep into their feelings or ask pertinent questions that may lead to answers they aren’t yet ready to hear and that’s exactly what they do here. If felt canon because as a reader, you know what’s going on and you also know that they are both in denial/slow on the draw. The fic is refreshing in that way.
In the end, Naruto ran away from his problems and ran towards (stalked actually) Sasuke who was out of Konoha doing a six month mission.
This fic can definitely use a sequel just to tell how things develop. That sequel will likely have a lot of unpacking because of Naruto’s actions though.
It was a good read. Nothing memorable/remarkable takes place and that is great because I was able to enjoy it ‘de novo’ for a second time since I almost didn’t remember having read it before.
