“Oh… who exactly are you looking for then?”
“A god.” Replies the Nether Lord with some force. Shuffling the cards faster and faster.
Seto blinks as a bad feeling settles in his stomach. “A wandering god?”
The Nether Lord huffs. “Right on the mark. I’m bringing you in to help me.”
Seto finds a million questions racing through his mind. Finally he decides on a safe question. “I see… then this person does not want to be found?”
The fox hybrid shakes his head, “not really. The world is wide, and I for once have had terrible luck. I have used up all my options, and I have decided to bring in you in to help. Your reputation of getting the job done is well known.”
Seto smiles under the mask. “I see. Then I hope I can be of service. Who exactly is this god?”
“His highness Seto the god of scholars, knowledge, and magic.”
Or: Seto has played many roles, lived a quiet life, and aims to just have peace. Then the Nether Lord makes a request. Between faking his own death, confronting his past, and his odd feelings… well he can handle it.

The glowing screen in front of him flickers before a mechanical voice rings out, “The user had completed missions, and changed the story from a tragedy to a wholesome story.”
He’s about to cut the voice off until it continues.
“However, the happiness level of the character has fallen into the minus points.”
“Well I mean- wait what?”
“The user’s newest mission is to bring up happiness points to one hundred.”
“Excuse me!?”
Or: Seto did everything in his power to fullfuil the happiness of the only character he’s ever been attached to. Things do not go to plan even when finished.

Summary
After Luo Binghe’s death, shizun has fallen into deep grief. His disciples can only do so much and Ming Fan can only do so much. Sometimes he wonders if there’s anything he can do.
It’s only when a letter arrives that Ming Fan finds himself a friend. Someone who supports him, praises him, and only wants the best for him, (if only Gongyi Xiao wasn’t so deeply in love with his shizun).
Or: Ming Fan and Gongyi Xiao become friends, try to help Shen Qingqiu, and fall in love with each other.

Next week will be perfect, because he can take shizun out. Travel up north. Find some monsters; bring a picnic along so that shizun will be able to eat. His shizun has been more energetic. More stamina (Luo Binghe can tell his master’s growing skill in bed). They’ll have so much time and he’ll even get to pray for his mother on her birthday-
The brush snaps under his hands, the top half falling to the floor. Silence following. His eyes stare at the half-finished character. Not even done. Moving his eyes, splatters of ink go from the table to the floor. The bristles dripping with ink.
Or: Luo Binghe’s grief for his mother suddenly comes back and Shen Qingqiu gets one crumb of emotional intelligence.
