By the time she clawed herself back to her feet, stumbling to and fro like a sailboat in a choppy sea, the Automatons had surrounded them in force, lining the tops of the walls like crenellations. Rees was still down, trapped by the red bolts above his head. Her lungs spasmed as she filled them, and her own shout sounded miles away.

Summary
A Helldiver stuck in the middle of nowhere after an operation goes sideways. A Terminid Warrior struggling to adapt to the loss of her nest. An Automaton Commissar captured after a failed attack on a booby-trapped Super Destroyer. An Illuminate Overseer on a simple scouting mission that turned catastrophic.
When these vastly different worlds collide, sparks will fly, both good and bad, and the unlikely group will need to do their best to put aside their judgement and pride if they want to survive.

Your ear twitches. It sounds like humans, the voices too large and booming to be from someone like you. A small shudder runs down your spine. You… do not particularly like interacting with humans. It usually doesn’t go well.
But you also know that one individual does not define an entire species… thus, you are debating with yourself here.
Whatever those humans are fighting, it doesn’t sound like they’re winning.
It wouldn’t sit well with you if they died when you could have done something. Stars. At the very least you can check and see if they need help. If so, you can help from a distance. If not, you can just get back to your berries. Yes. Good plan.
