Summary
Sherlock will occasionally have this thing happen, where someone will ask him what he sees in them. He will object, they will insist, he will acquiesce, they will get insulted. He doesn’t understand why they ask. He warns them that all of their secrets he knows, that they will not like what they hear back, but they insist. He never really understood it. Why do you want to ask a question when you know you won’t like the answer.
And yet.
And yet, he is sure that if he asked Vogel “Am I a happy person,” Vogel would answer him. And the answer would cut him to pieces. But he still doesn’t know the answer. It could be no, because of him mom. Or no, because of Jon. His brother, the case, or maybe something else. Something he can’t see but Vogel can. Or maybe it’s a yes. Maybe he is happy, but he’s just acting like he isn’t for some reason. He thinks that, maybe, if he just asked Vogel, he would know and therefore know what he needs to be happy.
He’s still afraid of what he would hear. -

Summary
Din Djarin is the catcher. He’s a great catcher, one of the best in the world in Luke’s totally unbiased opinion. He might not look like a baseball player, and is often underestimated because of that. He’s the slowest on the team, but he doesn’t need to be fast when he hits home runs.
“I’m fine,” Luke squeaks. “I just... my mom sent me a video of me and my sister when we were 7 or something and we were tossing a ball back and forth. I said I was gonna play in the world series and... yeah, I guess it just hit me at the worst time since I need to go out and talk to all the reporters and-”
Din took a step forward, putting a hand on Luke’s shoulder. “Take a breath, and center yourself. You are going to be fine.”
And suddenly, every anxious molecule evaporates from Luke’s body, replaced with a calmness that he’s not used to. Somehow, Din has the power to exude calm and authority in a way that makes Luke calm as well. He’s lucky to have Din as his catcher. He’s been kinda spoiled lately, having Din as his catcher every game this post season.
Luke just smiles. “Thanks, Din,” he says.

Summary
The supers are all pretty down to earth, actually. Their first meeting went well. He had fought beside a few of them, on the occasion where an extra terrestrial threat came to Gotham and he was able to help them. He liked them all well enough.
Except.
Except. The stupid blond hair, which shone in the sunlight. The blue eyes that were somehow brighter than the sky and deeper than the ocean. He was perfect, and he seemed to know that.

Luke was so excited when the Beyora was going to join the Justice League. He loves the Beyora. He’s the perfect mix of strong, capable, and mysterious that Luke is big enough to admit that it a massive turn on for him. When he went to Gotham to help with a shapeshifting alien who disguised herself as a regular Gothamite to escape detection, he approached the Beyora.

Luke is an alien from the planet Naboo, who then grew up and became a Jedi. But by day he's a mild-mannered reporter at the Daily Planet. -

“Hi, um, are you still open?” he asks the teenager.
“Umm, yeah, I guess,” she said, without looking up from her phone.
“Can I order some food?” he asked.
“Whatdayawant?” She finally got up from her chair and put her phone down on the counter.
Luke looked at the menu that was pasted up above the counter. “Um, I’ll get three of those wraps, the pork ones? Those are like tacos, right, three feed one person?”
“Yeah, three should do you just fine.”
“So three of those, and a can of coke.”
“Got it. Three fifty-six.”
Luke did a double take. Were the prices straight out of the 80s too?

Summary
“What’re people after you for, anyway?” Din asks, in search of a distraction. Enough of the kid’s face is visible for Din to be sure it hasn’t popped up on any bounty pucks he’s seen.
"I have no idea,” he says, distraught. Agitated. “At first I thought there’d been some kinda mistake – people here think my last name’s a slave name sometimes – but these guys don’t care, just keep talking about how rich I’m going to make them.” At his words, Din’s stomach turns over, cold with dread. That he is trapped in a cell with a mark Jabba the Hutt thinks can make him big credits doesn’t exactly inspire optimism in his own escape prospects. The kid’s voice cracks as he continues, faint, “I’m no one, honest, I just fix my uncle’s vaporators and salvage old speeders.”

After one of his first solo jobs goes sideways, Din meets Luke ten years early in a holding cell on Tatooine. Luke's buyer, someone powerful enough to threaten the Hutts, has left strict instructions not to lay a hand on him.
They use Din to hurt him instead.

Trouble is, he won't show his face.
