There is a boy looking at Remus from across the pub.
He’s standing in the poorly lit doorway and keeps having to move every time someone comes in.

Summary
Remus Lupin is the definition of an introvert: shy, bookish, and the sort to think a wild Friday night involves ordering takeout. He enjoys his quiet life, but after a bad breakup, he’s been yearning for a change of scenery. Luckily, his best friend and former college roommate has the solution.
Sirius Black—a jokester and expert Remus-handler—proposes an epic road trip to a wedding across the country. They’re both between jobs and boyfriends. Why not hit the open road and make some memories?
Stuck in close quarters for the first time since their dorm days, they’re both surprised at the heat that springs up between them. As best friends, they’ve shared so much over the years, so why does sharing a hotel room—and occasionally a bed—make them want more? Chemistry this smoldering is hard to ignore, but there are road blocks to their romance. Sirius is keeping a secret, and Remus can’t rely on Sirius to drag him out of his comfort zone forever. If they’re not careful, their relationship may take the ultimate wrong turn.

"God, I’m coming off really terribly, aren’t I?”
“You’re not. Lucky for you, I’m attracted to crazy people.”
***
Remus only had to drop the contracts off at Lily's office. He didn't anticipate meeting James or following him to the bar. He definitely didn't anticipate Sirius, nor did he plan to go home with him, or find three Grammys in his bedroom.

Summary
Remus is difficult - he knows that. He can't hold down a job, he doesn't like to let people get close, and he really sucks at living up to the person he'd hoped to be as a kid. When he's offered a job to smile for the camera and pretend to be in love, he thinks it might be the best thing he ever could've hoped for.
Except, he's working with Sirius Black. The icon of modern rock who is actually just a moody, unpredictable, hot mess. A really hot mess.

Summary
“What d’you reckon would happen if I put this in Polyjuice Potion? Would I turn back into a teenager?”
Remus feels his brain skid to a terrifying halt. What? What does Sirius know? Has he somehow gotten into Remus’ mind? Did he let something slip on accident? Murmur in his sleep? He tries to react too quickly, too eager to assure Sirius of his complete nonchalance, and in an impressive act of self-sabotage, only manages a sputtered “I- You- I don’t- That’s-”
He takes a quick breath, gathering himself to say an actual full sentence, but it’s too late. Sirius is grinning like Christmas has come early.
---
Sirius finds some of his old hairs in his abandoned bedroom at Grimmauld Place. He decides to use them to test a theory he has about Remus' most shameful thoughts.

Summary
Mostly canon-compliant Marauders-at-Hogwarts fic where each year is basically an entire book with a full plot.
Or
Strong Moonwater-centric fic where Regulus is actually the golden key that unlocks the entire universe – because why do only Padfoot and Prongs get ride-or-die besties?
Or
That one where the Marauders secretly brew Polyjuice to trade places with Remus on full moon days and help him avoid suspicion – think body-swapping with your crush trope.
Or
That one where, through a series of extenuating circumstances, Remus and Sirius have three first kisses. Because, naturally, third time's a charm, right?

Dear Remus,
I receive a letter from a stranger about once a month. Yours is the first one I’ve answered.
You do realise that it shows poor judgement to give a convicted murderer your full name and home address, right? I expect you’ll come to your senses soon and burn this letter, but in the meantime, do write back quickly.

Summary
Remus Lupin is not having a midlife crisis. It is a perfectly normal thing for a man in his mid 40s to desire a simple change in his life. Sometimes that change happens to come in the form of learning to ride a motorcycle, which then leads to events that reunite him with his ex, with whom things ended… complicated at best.
Naturally, they handle everything in the way only they can: lack of communication and giving into their desires.
